Musician from Reading finds his stolen equipment for auction on eBay!

We love interesting eBay stories and we heard a great one recently. Now, eBay definitely doesn’t allow stolen goods to be sold on its site. Nevertheless, there will always be light fingered people who can’t resist chancing their luck.

What if your prized possessions were stolen from you and you suddenly saw them staring brazenly at you from an eBay listing? Well, this is exactly what happened to a musician from Reading. Garreth Hicklin had thousands of pounds worth of musical equipment stolen from his van. Much to his surprise, he recognised many of the items whilst browsing eBay!

The member of an Eagles tribute band hadn’t had much joy with the Metropolitan Police, who had failed to follow the detail up properly. Now, however, and thanks to eBay, a woman has now been charged under the Proceeds of Crime act.

eBay have been keen to reiterate that users are not allowed to auction stolen goods on its site!
