Have you seen the updated version of “Quick Look” yet?  eBay is trialling a new version which is now live on many of its Daily Deals pages.

This new Quick Look has a similar pop up format to the eBay Feed on its home page. Nevertheless, it’s a little different. So, we thought we’d cut to the chase and tell you about the pros and cons.

What are the pros?

·         Well, we’ve noticed that this Quick Look test uses more prominent images. The title has also moved to the right hand side of the photo.

·         The title now appears in a larger font size. We don’t need to tell you why larger type and images are good for sales!

·         The pricing information is also bolder and it’s easier to read at a glance.

·         The “More results” gallery showing alternative items of interest is also clearer and larger. If you click on another item it loads faster than the eBay Feed on the home page.

·         Overall, it’s a neat little design that’s finished off with a nice little X to close the window.

The Cons

·         Unfortunately, there’s no Watch button. Some additional social media sharing buttons would also be a nice touch.

Naturally, people will still need to click if they want to “See full details” on this new Quick Look trial, rather like “View Item” on the eBay Feed. Could we perhaps do with some kind of cheeky “Instant Purchase” button? We know how important accurate descriptions are, but it might come in handy for mobile purchases!

Overall, the pros outweigh the cons, but it all comes down to whether you see your sales increase.
