A few people have noticed something new pop up on eBay. It appears that the best sellers are being promoted. From eBay’s point of view a great seller has consistent excellent feedback, plenty of experience, new items, savings and free postage.
If you view an item, you could now see additional information below the ‘buy’ box such as “Experienced seller”, “Free postage” and the saving percentage may also be shown.
Now, this may be a test, as this isn’t visible on all listings. Nevertheless, it could be that the seller has to meet strict criteria to qualify for this promotion.
So, if you’re selling what can you do to get your service promoted in this way? Well, free postage is a big one. We aren’t sure how much experience you’ll need to be able to qualify for the “Experienced seller” tag unfortunately. However, we would hazard a guess that it relates to sellers with the most feedback. It doesn’t necessarily seem to be exclusive to eBay Premium Service sellers.
So, we suggest taking a look at your own listings. Perhaps there are steps you could take to earn some of these tags? It looks as though eBay are favouring sellers offering free postage and new items. Feedback percentages also seem to hold a lot of sway. Having “100% feedback”, rather than “99% feedback” looks like it’s now more important than ever!
